A VR gun that is perfect for enjoying first-person shooters in VR space is under development. That is Striker VR's haptic VR gun "ARENA Infinity".
This assault rifle type guncon has several modes, and the vibration and sound effects change depending on the type of firearm used in the game. Please see how it is actually used in the video.This is a video from Road to VR. The VR gun I'm using is still a prototype.
As you can see, it is possible to switch to a mode such as full-automatic continuous shooting for single shooting, railgun-like effects that require charging, and chainsaw that is fun to slash zombies.
The retro futuristic design is by concept designer Edon Guraziu.At this stage, it is only compatible with PhaseSpace and Sixense tracking systems, but eventually it is being developed so that it can be used with Valve's Lighthouse and Oculus's Constellation, as well as PlayStation Move.

Striker VR will distribute this VR gun and software development kit to affiliated developers at a convention in the fourth quarter of this year. In the future, it will be possible to distribute it more widely.
So far, "ARENA Infinity" is not made for general consumers, it is said that it is aimed at places where the VR environment is easier to prepare ... For example, for training in amusement parks and military facilities. Will that be the case?
