-Aiming to reduce the burden on local governments by performing bridge inspection work with drones-February 22, 2022 NTT DoCoMo, Inc. NTT DoCoMo, Inc. (hereinafter, DoCoMo) utilizes drones with the cooperation of Kanagawa Prefecture. We have succeeded in a demonstration experiment of the inspection of the bridge. In this demonstration experiment, by combining Skydio, Inc. * 1 (hereinafter, Skydio) autonomous flight type drone "Skydio 2TM" and DoCoMo's drone platform "docomo sky Cloud", "shooting → sharing → analysis → We verified the effectiveness of the series of processes of "confirmation" and confirmed that it can be used for bridge inspections carried out by local governments. In the future, we will promote the automation of business processes such as flight and analysis, aiming to further reduce the burden of bridge inspection work of local governments. Following the fall accident of the ceiling plate of the Sasako Tunnel on the Chuo Expressway in December 2012, a ministry ordinance to partially revise the Road Law Enforcement Regulations was enforced in July 2014, and for road bridges with a length of 2.0 m or more. Is obliged to carry out regular inspections by close-up visual inspection once every five years, but the major issues for local governments are "insufficient engineers" and "high inspection costs". In addition, the actual inspection work is often done at night when there is little traffic, which is dangerous, and the work is inefficient due to the work in the dark, and the work is prolonged. Bridges and other structures that have been intensively constructed during the period of high economic miracle are aging, and it is now required to efficiently maintain and manage road structures. In Kanagawa Prefecture, the aging rate of bridges * 2 was about 34% as of April 1, 2015, out of about 1,200 bridges managed by the prefecture, but about 64% and 20 in 10 years. It is expected that the number of bridges will increase to about 78% in a year and the number of aging bridges will increase year by year. Along with this, there is concern that the risk of accidents related to bridges will increase. Under these circumstances, Kanagawa Prefecture will utilize the power of technology to promote "realization of a drone-based society" with the aim of promoting practical efforts to solve various social issues that are becoming apparent due to the progress of aging. This demonstration experiment was conducted by DoCoMo as one of the projects.
