A method for discovering hidden cameras using the iPhone's LiDAR sensor has been announced overseas and is attracting attention.
This is a technology that uses the ToF (Time of Flight) sensor used in the LiDAR sensor of the iPhone to discover a hidden camera embedded in a wall by a third party. This sensor uses a laser to measure the distance to the subject and adds depth information to the camera, which detects the camera by reading the strong reflections of the lens. This system is named LAPD (Laser-Assisted Photography Detection), and it aims to provide the application and release the source code as well as the publication of the paper. With this app, individuals can easily search with one app without having to ask a company specializing in security to conduct a full-scale investigation, so not only corporations that handle important information but also corporations that handle important information can do it. There is no doubt that it will be possible to easily check privacy even when an individual stays at a hotel or private lodging. Keep an eye on future trends.
