Perhaps it was around August this year, I was thinking of purchasing DJI "Spark", but DJI's official website has been out of stock for a long time. Sales do not seem to resume even after two months in September and October. It is likely that there will be a successor that will change to the Spark position.
DJI "Mavic Mini"
That's why I once withdrew my desire and waited patiently, and on October 31st, the "Mavic Mini" was announced. This aircraft will be the smallest and lightest aircraft, replacing the previous compact and lightest aircraft Spark.
The biggest feature is that the main body + battery weighs less than 200g. As some of you may know, permission under the Aviation Law is required to fly a drone in a densely populated area designated by the Geographical Survey Institute called DID. However, this has a proviso that "the weight of the main body + battery is less than 200g".
Even the lightest aircraft Spark so far weighs 300g, so it was necessary to apply for a permit to fly over DID, but it is big that it has become possible to fly without a permit application even though it has almost the same performance. Since this 200g limit is a rule unique to Japan, DJI has taken the trouble to introduce a model that matches the regulations for Japanese users.
The price at the official store is 46,200 yen (tax included) for the basic set including the main body, and 59,400 yen (tax included) for the Fly More combo including spare parts and spare batteries.
Since the enforcement of the revised Aviation Law, it seems that the drone fever has cooled down quickly for domestic consumers, but with the advent of this machine, it may show excitement again. This time I would like to thoroughly test this Mavic Mini.
