Flying from a running truck bed
Nippon Express (NX) announced that it conducted a demonstration experiment at the NX Group Izu Training Center (Izunokuni City, Shizuoka Prefecture) on the 10th to verify the use of drones for emergency transportation such as disaster transportation and medicines. For the first time in the domestic logistics industry, we tried night flight and drone takeoff and landing from a running truck or slope assuming a situation where a drone port could not be installed, and confirmed the effect. The demonstration experiment was conducted in collaboration with NX Logistics Research Institute (President Hiroshi Nagai, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo). In addition to verifying the takeoff and landing of drones assuming an emergency, a state management test was conducted assuming the transportation of medicines from remote locations. NX's proprietary packaging materials are used to confirm the quality of integrated transportation that combines existing air freight transportation and the Last One Mile drone. We tested state management such as temperature zone management (cold insulation / heat insulation) and location information tracking, verified the current technical level under automatic takeoff and landing, and autonomous flight, and extracted issues.
