The newly installed "text recognition display" function is a system that reads and recognizes text in photos. It can be used for captured images and subjects over which the camera app is held.
The read text will be useful in many ways, such as translating, moving to a website, and displaying the location on the Map app.
Supported languages are English / Chinese / French / Italian / German / Portuguese / Spanish. At the moment, Japanese is not included, but it is possible to convert English etc. into Japanese translation.

As a result, a "Text recognition display" button has been added at the bottom right of the target image in the camera roll.
The text recognition range that is automatically performed is 4 items: URL / phone number / address / email address.
If the URL is listed, tap the selected part and it will lead you to the corresponding site smoothly.
On the shooting screen of the camera app, the same button will be displayed if the character is recognized.
You can also call the translation function by swiping or tapping a part of the text.
Currently, the translation function supports 7 languages: English / Chinese / French / Italian / German / Portuguese / Spanish.
It's like a dream that you can quickly check the Japanese translation just by holding the camera and tapping it. Maybe you can play an active part in the second foreign language class !?
This function is also useful when copying text to the memo app. After opening the memo, tap the screen and select the "Text recognition display" button.
The camera starts in the lower half of the screen. Select the character part you want to copy and select .
You can now copy and paste the entire location you specified!
