Senshin Robotics (Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, President Takuya Kitamura) will start an indoor / outdoor patrol demonstration service at a construction site using a flying robot (drone) in collaboration with Takenaka Corporation, Kanamoto, and Aktio. It is possible to fly the drone automatically even indoors where the Global Positioning System (GPS) cannot be used. By replacing the safety patrol and on-site confirmation work performed by the person in charge of construction management with a drone, it will lead to labor saving and reduction of travel time to the site. The demonstration service combines Senshin Robo's original platform technology "Senshin Core" with "Visual SLAM technology" used for self-position estimation of drones. The feature is that the 3D map of the construction site created from the building information modeling (BIM) data can be used as it is for setting the flight route. By converting BIM data and displaying it on a 3D map, it is possible to set flight routes that are visually easy to understand, including flight altitude. By automatically flying a drone equipped with a camera, it will lead to labor saving and shortening of work period at the site. It will also be possible for people to work on weekdays and fly drones on-site on holidays to manage progress. Construction work has a wide range of construction periods, from days to months. In order to "get the user to know the advantages first" (Senshin Robo), we plan to set various plans such as several days, one month, half a year, etc., and set the price of the several day plan to 1 million yen or less. By having customers use it as a "trial service" at various sites, we will improve the details and lead to commercial development.
