IMAGICA Entertainment Media Service relocated its business base and head office (Tokyo Video Center) for video technology services in Higashigotanda, Shinagawa-ku to Takeshiba, Minato-ku. The relocation will start sequentially from November 2021 and will be almost completed by the end of January 2022. In February, we held a preview of the facility for the industry media.
Gotanda's Tokyo Imaging Center has been used for 70 years since 1951 as post-production for movies and commercials. Starting from the development of the film, it has been used for post-production, color grading, previews by related parties, etc. even when it became digital, but this time it was decided to move from Gotanda to Takeshiba due to the redevelopment project in the Higashi-Gotanda area.
The location is a new building on the 7th floor right in front of Yurikamome Takeshiba Station (Takeshiba Station on the far left).
When you enter the entrance, there are two preview rooms on the left and right of the 1st floor. The post-production facilities of IMAGICA Entertainment Media Service Co., Ltd. will be on the 1st to 6th floors, and the parent company IMAGICA GROUP Inc. will be on the 7th floor of the top floor.
The first preview room has 100 seats. In Gotanda, the largest preview room was 150, so the number of seats has decreased, but the screen size has expanded a little.
The projector can be 35mm as well as digital.

The 3rd floor is MA and dubbing room, and 301 and 302 are dubbing rooms. A room for mixing theater notices played in movie theaters. It can be adjusted in the same environment as the preview room on the 1st floor. A simple equipment system that allows a single mixer to concentrate on work.
Since it is not possible to secure the size of a movie theater, the sound is adjusted so that the sound field is close to that. The speaker is embedded in the wall.
302 narration booth. This is for one person. It can also be used for recording while standing with the desk folded. The solid microphone stand is made by Takasago Seisakusho, which has been used since the Gotanda era, and is a vintage product whose maintenance service has already ended.

303 to 305 are MA rooms and the photo is 303. This can handle jobs in many genres, and recently TV and distribution dramas have increased to 60%, and for such purposes, it is possible for three people in charge of music, effects, and dialogue to proceed with the mix. It is said that there are many. In this room, I have 3 sets of Pro Tools HDX so that I can work at the same time. There used to be a digital console, but without it, the clean desktop overturns the image of a traditional MA room. The narration booth can be seen on the far right.
The speaker is embedded in the wall. A dummy narration booth window is also provided on the left hand side to make it acoustically symmetrical.
303 narration booth. Recently, it has become more widespread because more than one person has entered and the number of standing dubbing recordings is increasing.

There is a room for grading movies released in theaters. The photo is 402. The interior is dark with minimal reflection. The sweet spot with respect to the screen is the position where the grader sits, and in front of it is the sofa on which the director and cameraman sit. There are two types of software, DaVinci Resovle and Filmlight Baselight, which you can switch between. The photo shows a panel for DaVinci.
In response to the request, a seat for the director was set up on the left back of the grader. Behind it is a sofa for clients.

Color grading and editing can be done online in different rooms using the same material. In addition, the room and workstation are not connected and can be freely combined, so they can be operated flexibly. This 409 monitor is supposed to be a living room. There is a TV display and a sofa on the far right.

Quality control and the existence of a QC room are unique to IMAGICA. There are 5 rooms specializing in QC that support 4K HDR, and you can check the master material of DVD / BD before theatrical release. In addition to technical checks such as image and sound noise and microphone baldness, we also perform animations related to content such as character design according to needs.
