In response to these issues, Takenaka Corporation, along with Kanamoto and Actio, conducted an indoor and outdoor autonomous flight test using BIM for automatic drone flights to confirm the effectiveness of the accuracy necessary for autonomous flights. This is a technology that uses Visual Slam technology and BIM with a stereo camera mounted on a drone to stably fly drones even in buildings where GNSS radio waves are not included.
Until now, efforts to fly drones in indoor spaces where GNSS radio waves do not enter using Visual Slam technology have been carried out by drone manufacturers and solution providers. However, Visual Slam, when the drone flies, has acquired the surrounding environment, and gradually occurs, "drift" from the actual environment. The error between the actual environment and the three -dimensional space obtained by the Visual Slam shifts the position specified by the drone.
Therefore, in the "BIM x DRONE" indoor and outdoor autonomous flight system of Takenaka Corporation, Kanamoto, and Actio, using BIM data as a map of this three -dimensional space, and compensating with Visual Slam data., Realizes a more accurate drone flight.
