[You can also shoot videos] The desk environment of a 47-year-old withdrawal blogger (Spring 2022 ver)

After buying the 24-inch iMac (M1, 2021), I felt like I didn't write down what kind of desk I was working at, so I would like to briefly introduce my work environment as of March 2022. I think My job is to write a blog, but I also post videos on YouTube about once a week, so I try to make it easy to shoot videos at my desk.

Desk environment where you can write blogs and shoot videos

The main machine is "24 inch iMac (M1, 2021)". Below that is the 11-inch iPad Pro (2nd generation). The Mac uses a function called sidecar to use the iPad as a sub-display, so when writing a blog with multiple windows open, the iPad is convenient because it fills in the missing space.

The keyboard is "HHKB Professional Classic" and the pointing device is Logitech's "Wireless Trackball MX ERGO". Both are items that don't make you tired even when working at a desk for a long time, and if you are suffering from tendonitis or stiff shoulders, I would like you to try this combination.

And on the right side is the video recording space using the monitor arm.

The whole picture looks like this. The front camera is "α7IV (ILCE-7M4)", and the one used for overhead shooting is "VLOGCAM ZV-1". When I take selfies, I use the α7IV with front and side lighting. It's a mystery whether full-fledged lighting is necessary for an old man's selfie (laughs)

My recent obsession is the monitor arm on which the α7IV is mounted. I modified the 3-stage monitor arm a little and installed an extension pole. This allows you to easily change the height and position of the camera, so…

At the time of a video conference using ZOOM, etc., you can use the α7IV by setting it next to your Mac. I can use the "ECM-B1M" microphone attached to the α7IV as it is (excellent sound quality!), so I removed the audio interface and microphone that I had been using. This will make your desk look neater.

The VLOGCAM ZV-1, which is used for bird's-eye view shooting, has a sliding arm attached to the monitor arm, and a pan head is attached in a complicated manner. This is difficult to explain and unstable, so I don't recommend it. Improvement is needed here.

Current desk environment (overall)

The desk environment I am writing this article now looks like this. In front of the MUJI shelf on the right is a space for writing notebooks and taking pictures of small items. I spend my days writing blogs at this desk, and it's really comfortable.

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, I've been working less at cafes and co-working spaces than I used to, but instead, my work environment at home has evolved steadily, and in the end it looks like this. . (In the direction of not calculating the total amount)

In 2022, I don't think there will be much change from the current desk environment, so I will write another article about the desk environment next year. Well then! again!
