At the March regular meeting of the Futaba Town Council that opened on the 9th, Mayor Shiro Izawa presented the administrative policy for fiscal 2022 and explained the town's efforts for new town development. As a measure to support the return of people to the specified reconstruction and revitalization base areas in June at the earliest, in addition to subsidizing hotel accommodation and home cleaning costs, we will also partially subsidize the relocation costs required for returning. In order to strengthen the crime prevention system after returning home, we will improve the disaster prevention administrative radio system and redevelop the crime prevention and disaster prevention cameras. With regard to agriculture, which was the town's core industry before the accident at the Tokyo Electric Power Company's Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station, we aim to fully restart farming based on our vision for resuming regional farming. In preparation for the resumption of horticultural crops, land preparation and survey design for the installation of agricultural facilities in the Ryotake district began. We will also consider new entry into agricultural corporations in order to secure the bearers. In addition, the Futaba Junior High School Gymnasium on the hill will be renovated for the purpose of interacting with townspeople and using it as an evacuation center. He also indicated that the historical building "Former Tanaka Clinic" in the Nagatsuka area will be registered and protected as a nationally registered tangible cultural property, and that it will be used as a base for community development.
Mayor Izawa expressed his enthusiasm, saying, "We are standing at the starting line for a new stage of reconstruction. This is a critical moment to open up the future of the town. We will further accelerate our reconstruction efforts."
