In the Micro Cinema Contest, we define “micro cinema” as a short video work with a story within 5 minutes. In recent years, the corona crisis has deprived us of the freedom to go out, and it has become difficult to even return to our hometowns. As an even shorter "micro cinema", it is intended to be expressed with the sensibility of the video creator.
Submissions were judged by three people active in each field: film director Chihiro Ikeda, film planning/distribution producer Hideaki Masuda, and VIDEO SALON Ichiyanagi. In addition to prize money, the award-winning works are scheduled to be broadcast as a special program on cable 4K (scheduled for next spring) and to be expanded to various video media.

Chihiro Ikeda (film director/screenwriter) started making independent films when he was in high school.
