Bosch Sensortech realizes a clear image that can be worn day and night by projecting the image directly on the retina, and with its small size and light weight of 10 g or less, "it can turn any ordinary glasses into smart glasses. Developed a Light Drive module for smart glasses that says "possible". It was revealed that it will be unveiled for the first time at CES 2020 to be held in Las Vegas in January. It is scheduled to be released to major manufacturers in 2021 as "BML500P".
Bosch develops Light Drive module for smart glasses Single source, all-in-one integrated solution with MEMS mirrors, optics, sensors and onboard processing. A collimated optical scanner equipped with MEMS scans a holographic optical element (HOE) embedded in a lens of smart glasses, and the HOE projects light rays onto the retina of the eye to constantly project a clear image. In addition, the projected high-resolution image can be adjusted in brightness, so it looks clear and bright even in direct sunlight, ensuring privacy and making it possible to wear it day and night. The company explained that Bosch Light Drive technology is also compatible with curved lenses and corrective lenses, making it an attractive product for users of prescription glasses. With conventional display technology, stray light, such as haze or rainbow-like light, is generated when the system is turned off, but this technology minimizes stray light and realizes comfortable light transmission throughout the day. This ensures a clear view at all times and eliminates unnecessary reflections. Another major feature is its small size and light weight, which reduces the depth by 30% compared to existing products. Weighing less than 10g, "Manufacturers will be able to design stylishly with a smaller frame width, and smart glasses with a thick design of the first generation will be a thing of the past." If it is accepted and widely adopted, it could be the next boom for home appliance display equipment manufacturers. "
