I think the first time I wore myopia glasses was when I was in the eighth grade of junior high school. A lot of years have passed since then. Today, it has become highly functional, such as being able to see both near and far with a single lens.
How many times have you looked for glasses in such a history of glasses?
The biggest problem for spectacle users is that they need spectacles to find them. So when the Bluetooth tag came out, I thought, "Hurry up and get glasses!"
And recently, that wish finally came true. A Bluetooth tag dedicated to eyeglasses has appeared. It is "ORBIT GLASSES" of Global Shopping Network.
Contents of the ORBIT GLASSES package. The upper right is the main body, the sticker, and the "ORBIT GLASSES" charger, which is a size tag that is easy to attach to glasses. Then, attach it to the eyeglass frame with 3M adhesive tape. It seems to be compatible with eyeglass frames with a thickness of 3 mm or more. The battery is rechargeable, and when charged with the included charger, it can be used for about a month on a single full charge.
State when the charger is charging. A blue LED lights up while chargingLike the Bluetooth tags that have already appeared here and there, you can call them from a dedicated smartphone app, and you can check the current location of the tag on the map within the app. There is also a misplacement prevention alarm function that sounds an alarm when the connection between the smartphone and ORBIT GLASSES is lost. It is also compatible with Amazon Alexa.
The ORBIT appWhen attached to the outside of the frame, it doesn't feel heavy at all. There is also a position that is easy to hide with hair, and there is no sense of discomfort in appearance.
I put it on the sideIf you can't find your glasses, tap the "Search ORBIT GLASSES" button in the app and the sound will tell you where it is. Finally freed from looking for glasses before going out!
I haven't used a map yet, but it should be useful if you wear sunglasses or other glasses that you put on and take off frequently, as it makes it easier to locate them.
Because you can't use your glasses while charging, it seems better to charge while you sleep.
I want to be careful about getting wet. I have to try not to soak in the water with my glasses on like I used to! "I've already purchased a spare, but I want to be careful."
You won't feel the weight at all when you wear itThe most noticeable thing was that it is compatible with Amazon Alexa.
If you can't find it, it would be great if you could find it with your voice. "Orbit skill" can be searched with the keyword "orbit" in the Alexa app.
There's also an "orbit skill" for Alexa, but it still doesn't seem to work (Makuake mentions this on its product page). It is linked with the skill and responds to the call "Alexa, find the glasses in Orbit!"
However, unfortunately at the time of writing, no matter how many times I asked, the only reply I got was "I'm sorry. I couldn't find my glasses."
It's a little disappointing, but the product for eyeglasses is a long-awaited product, and for the time being, it's now possible to find the location of the eyeglasses with the app, so let's say it's okay. We look forward to future updates on the performance of Alexa skills.
I would appreciate it if you could call it from a smartwatch such as the Apple Watch!
